That's a really tight fit.

It makes the r32 engine bay look roomy.

Any pics of the modded manifold?

Are you doing anything about the compression or just keeping the boost fairly low?

compression is staying the same for now, looking to be running around 10-11psi. as long as the tune is good and the engine is in good health, there shouldn't be much drama at this boost level.

i think they were called weds professor mesh as listed on the centre caps.

good news; everything is going smoothly now & should hopefully be completed by next monday for tuning. only thing left to do is weld flanges to the dump/front and bolt it up, install fuel pump & fmic and all is sweet.

bad news; the manifold i bought got cracked during shipping but luckily it was registered post and got the $$ back from auspost. so ended getting the wastegate fitted to the rear housing of the turbo instead.

sonny at powertune did it for me.
luckily he was still at the shop at 6pm on tuesday night to get it done as i needed it urgently. many thanks to powertune

also if anyone has a rb30 bottom end that they're throwing away/selling pls let me know.
definately gonna run a built rb30 bottom end in future.

clutch is making weird whining sounds now after it copped a thrashing at yesterdays skidpan. it makes a whining sound when in neutral or when in gear & accelerating.
is that the clutch or the box?
when i clutch in, it goes away.

had the ecu & tune looked over elsewhere and he found some problems with the ecu install & the tune.

when doing some tests, it brings up some errors from the emanage ultimate meaning its not wired up correctly or not wired up at all - mainly ignition side of it.
also with the tune, it was running lean in some spots so he had to fix them up.

also my overboosting issue has been fixed, chagned to smaller wastegate spring = WINNER and disconnected o2 sensor again and it no longer idles funny. might have to take it back to the original tuner to get him to retune it properly with the o2 sensor so it doesnt idle funny when connected cause if its left d/c, the check engine light comes on which is annoying & fuel ecomony sux balls! im getitng like 300-350km out of full tank.

car is making 177rwkw now (it was 160rwkw before it went in). not as much as i was told by the initial tuner but it definately doesn't feel like 177 :-? i can safely say im not very happy with its initial tune.

another update.
fken car was pinging in 4th, pissed off about that as i asked the first tuner if the car pinged or knock at all and he said no. :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

car gained 50nM of torque and 10kw more, car feels so much better & more responsive to drive now and it doesnt feel so laggy in 3rd anymore.

he didn't have time for me when i wanted it done so i took it elsewhere.

oh and another thing, when connected to the laptop, it brings up ignition errors from all 6 ch. wtf???

update 31/8
- custom 3" dump & front pipe done by western mufflers, loved their work!
raised exhaust up by .8 to 10mm (might not sound like much but every mm counts)

- custom alloy cross over pipe

found out the turbo oil return is leaking :(


currently in the market for ebc & 3" hiflow cat. if anyone got, let me know.

minor update 7/9

- 15mm bolt on spacers
- r33 gtst front brake setup with QFM A1RM pads

next will be:
100K service.
5k oil service
change fuel filter
khumo KU36 tyres
wheel alignment to track specs

car is slowly getting there so hoping to be ready in 3months for a marulan track day :lol:
