minor update:

Cams, exhaust cam gear, valve springs and rocker arm stoppers were installed in the new engine yesterday.

Thanks to Luis at Drift Garage for doing the work

Just waiting for a few bits and pieces to arrive and then the new engine and box will be fitted to the car and the exhaust and piping fabrication can start.

I'm hoping to have the car track ready in about 6 weeks.

Some work in progress shots of the intercooler/radiator mounts and guides. This was after about 6 hours of work.

It's taking a hell of a lot longer than originally expected due to the shaping of the base piece and having to put the front bar on and remove it all the time.

Luckily, I finished the base piece yesterday afternoon so now it's just making guides and some top mounts for the radiator.

I don't have a recent one, just the old mock up.

I'll be working on it again tonight so can get a new one.

Looking great Dave.

Going to be weapon on the track.

Are you going to modify the suspension at all or see how it goes?

see how it goes initially.

With the extra weight in the front i expect it will drop it a little bit so i may need to drop the rear slightly to maintain the rake and then touch up the alignment.

From it's last OP outing it showed up the back end being a bit stiffly sprung so a swap to softer rear springs is about the only definite plan for the future. It's gotten away with it everywhere else but with the extra midrange of the turbo setup i expect it will struggle to put power down on corner exit.

Some new shocks will go in eventually.

Yeah tell me about it :D

Sounds like a plan!

Its going to be a whole new scenario, very different power delivery and driving style required. Hopefully the suspension wont require too much mucking around.

if you can mash the accelerator and know it'll have traction, you're not cornering hard enough :P
