youll get used to it, the 450D is quite ergonomic

damn, if the 35mm was a canon, id probably offer you something for it. no biggie!

Iain, my old 35mm camera is an F401.

When it came to 35mm Nikon > Canon. In the DSLR world Canon > Nikon.

i dunno im sorta going for nikon > canon in DSLR at the moment

canon see to be driven by marketing megapixels. right now a 21mp camera wont give you a better pic than something with less megapixels. the sensors are too noisy and the software cant 'fix' the noise.

they havent actually done anything to the cameras except put higher MP sensors in them. take the 5D mk2 for example. they threw out the best thing from the 5D and didnt put it in the Mk2, and that was the sensor.....

So did you end up gettin the mkII or the d700!

yeh totally agree on the MP thing, honestly the megapixel war is over, we're at a point where it's so good going any higher really doesn't matter anymore. Well for amatuers and enthusiasts atleast.

i havent got anything yet! still waiting for my job to finish and i get my payout! so when that happens ill be getting the D700 and the 24-70mm F2.8 and the 70-200mm F2.8 as well. along with a battery grip and maybe a speedlite if i can afford it......

you wont regret the speedlight if you get one. It opens up a whole new world when you start using flashes mate. but you can spend hours and hours its so good experimenting.

just abit of reading for when you're bored.

Hopefully if my car sells soon-ish i might consider saving up for a tokina 11-16. extra wide baby, its how i like em ;)

ohh yeah i know the strobists lol i also downloaded all the instructional dvds.

and i have a speedlite for my canon now. personally i hate shooting with a flash at all. but sometimes its necessary.........

I find it to be a necessity to be honest. but problem is im slow at getting it right hahaha. but i guess it comes with practice.

doing portraits or shooting friends at a party with a low white ceiling its piss easy

using as fill light outdoors or long distance i still cant judge....

but yeah gotta practice

so i just bought a D700

pity everyone is out of the 24-70 F2.8 lens so im stuck with a body i cant use!! lol
