So remember peters threads about kids throwing rocks at this car..

Well some idiot threw a big ass piece of rock onto a car which smashed the windscreen and landed onto my friends dads chest.. Which caused him to loose control of his car..

My dad called me up and said i gotta go- there is an emergency.. Im like WHAT.. he didn't tell me till i got home!! hmmm

Here is the story from the smh

Quote:
A man is lucky to be alive after a two-kilogram rock smashed through his windscreen and into his chest, causing him to lose control of his car on a busy freeway before his quick-thinking wife applied the handbrake, police say.

The 56-year-old was driving on the F6 freeway at Berkeley, near Wollongong, when the rock - reportedly dropped from above by a young boy - smashed through his windscreen about 1pm yesterday, police said.

Quote:
A motorist driving behind the victim's dark green hatchback sedan reported seeing a boy, in the company of another, drop the rock from the 50 metre cutting, Acting Sergeant Marty Weston said.

damn kids! They got no respect these days for other people's property or the safety of others.

They deserve to have a 2kg rock dropped on their head from 50m above to see what it would be like to be on the receiving end of that sort of reckless act.

I dont get the amusement of causing "grievous body harm" as that infact, is what it is. When i was 14 - 17ish i never did anything that childish nor did i want too, i dont get how the kids today can see how its a form of amusement its disgusting!

Sorry to hear about your friend's dad. Going by the news report it could have been much worse had his mum not acted quickly.

I seriously don't get why people do this sort of thing. And it's not just kids doing stupid crap that endangers others (that volunteer firefigther who got charged with arsen recently was not a kid)

What's worse is our justice system is a joke when it comes to punishing people who commit these acts - even more so when the guilty person is a minor. If these kids get caught they'll probably just get a 6 month good behaviour bond (slap on the wrist really). That's IF they get caught, which is unlikely.

These are the sort of people who have no place in our society. They put absolutly NO thought into what they're doing. They don't stop to think that their actions could result in some kids growing up without 1 or both parents, or the other way around. They don't stop and think about all the lives that could be ruined by their action. All their simple little brains can think of is fulfilling their primitive instinct for destruction.

You wouldn't want to be serious.

and even if you aren't,that's in pretty poor taste.

Seriously sad to hear. I hope he's ok.

I think it comes down to talking about this sort of stuff with your kids...or kids in your family, be it siblings, nephews, nieces etc. and spending time with these kids...whether it's taking them on a cruise (and driving legally) or to the footy or the beach or just spending time with them and giving them someone to look up to that they can talk to without it being a strict parent.

I've been a youth worker for years and (for the most part) it really does come down to role modelling and having positive influences in your life.

In saying that, there are some people in this world that need a lot of help and unfortunately they breed offspring that will also need a lot of help.

For the rest of us, report shit when you see it...or speak up when you see that shit aint right...cause none of us want our loved ones in that situation.
Christian.
