Just bought a Lacie 1TB Network HDD, as far as I'm concerned it is all set up - picks up an IP address, I've set up the share name, can access via the browser & other pc's on the network etc. I have enabled "Media Server" and chosen videos as i just want to stream videos to the PS3 only. When i search under the video setting for a media server on the PS3 it doesn't find anything ? Is their anything that i have missed out, anyone had previous experience with this ?

the media server is designed for say my nokia n95 that has wireless and can stream to the ps3 i think using upnp not for network sharing of files...

its all good guys just going to use a program called TVErsity. Will let you know how it goes for anyone else wanting to stream to their ps3

hmm i hope my PS3 can see the shares on my server like my XB360 can!! that will sick if it cant, because divx playback on 360 sucks sometimes.

i got my PS3 streaming through WMP11 it works pretty good.

ok i got mine talking to the 'media server' of Windows Home Server. pity PS3 wont play anything that i have. pretty sucky, the 360 pwns it easily!

actually im not all that happy with the PS3.....

umm no

cant get GT5 on xbox

nah the controller just seems so light and cheap, the interface isnt all that userfriendly. and the GT5P updates NEVER seems to want to update. apparently you need to try it 5 times in a rom. when it downloads some rediculoud amount of data each time, i dont think so

and WHY do the games have to 'install' onto the hard drive?? i dont want to wait 15 mins before playing a game for the first time.

install on hd so less loading times....

id rather a light and cheap controller than one was designed based on the windows logo.

heres one I prepared earlier... If i go missing over the next few days... ull know why.. :(

Ps3 is pretty good, have you got all the updates cause without the newest updates you wont be able to play that many formats. Most Movie files will play like DivX, AVi and MPeg4. there are a few which wont though which sucks. the only good thing about Xbox is forza.

xbox will do some xvids, PS3 appears to not play any of them.

i have the EXACT same setup for both consoles, talking to the same shares on the same server.

forza 2 is awesome!

ps3 has 2.35 update as of a few days ago when i did it. still didnt help with playback. doesnt matter i have XBMC on xbox 1 that has never let me down

yeah i have z. and it feels nice and heavy, a nice weight.. just right for smashing the box with it when it shits itself and overheats....

though i was considering getting a 360 aswell. cos u can download all the games for em. :wink:

PS3 controller is way better than that xbox thing. Do you hace a dual shock 3 zei? it is better than the old PS3 controller, feels better cause its not as light.
