Well i have my old modem..the D-LINK 302G. But that's not ADSL2+ certified.
Hmm i think its the modem syncing.

But I've noticed another thing. I can download torrents and download stuff while the connection is "down". Makes no sense at all!

I think i have found the problem.

What i forgot was the model number which is DG834GSP v3.

Thanks to Google and Forums.whirlpool.com [i think it is] I have found that the modem is faulty. Not mechanically wise but software wise. The firmware of the modem is faulty and makes the modem unsync etc whatever.

Hope optus agrees with and i can get a replacement modem.

thanks to everyone who helped me.

Yeah? I saw on the whirlpool forum that some people tried to update it but it had an error and that you can only update it with optus 'certified' firmware.
What's the go with this?

check to see if you can flash your firmware with DD-WRT its can make your $10.00 router into like a $600.00 router. but you will need to check to see if they support your model.

Guys this is an excellent firmware for routers, it will enhance gaming (lower Ping) for all connections, PS3, PS2, Xbox360 etc, as it provides really good settings and features that cheap routers don't.

visit dd-wrt.com

Will it void my warranty if it works? And what happens if it doesn't cause my router isn't listed.
