no im being serous stupid....

yeah well maybe his tryna tell u something :P

but dead set, u can ask and they have to show you
otherwise u take down their id # on their shirt
and report them and they get in shit

They have to show you.

I was assaulted once by a psycho drug-fucked weirdo pretending to be a policeman. He showed me a 2006 police diary as his ÍD, and I said that wasn't enough and he flipped.

i dunno how many times we need to say australian police DONT have badge numbers. for a start they dont have a badge like a yankie cop does on their shirt.

they have a name, and a police station they are assigned to.

but yes they have an id card and a badge in their wallet. some of the newer ones look like shit, and might even be made of plastic. my mate was telling me he wanted an old one they 'look heaps better' lol

ahah im going to back you up on this one frisky! since the boys here are always pickin on you

you have every right to ask the police officer for some sort of ID, if they can't produce this to you then you dont need to do anything. The court will back you up on it.

All officers must carry some sort of ID if they want to show some authority.

For Example, a mate of mine was doing burnouts down at wingdang late one afternoon and a man was walking his dog. Once my mate stopped doing it he parked the car and the man walked over to him, flashed his police ID and phoned Highway patrol, highway patrol came and took down witness statements and he got fine for doing the burnout.

like i sad they must show some sort of ID for Authority.

yeah if you dont ask they assume you know that they are real police, but like i said you have all the right in the world to ask them for their ID. If they dont just say

"sorry mate i cant help you for all i know you could be a theif in a police outfit"
