Is that anyone on here at all? The accident happened in Blakehurst, a 5 car accident apparently.

RIP to the old lady who died, and all the best for a speedy recovery for all other injured parties.

sounds like media hype to me

whats the bet the elderly couple turned left at a 'left turn on red after stopping' but neglected to look. it would be great media coverage to bad mouth and put down younger drivers and sports cars. i mean it would never had made the news if there wasnt younger drivers involved

The news report i heard today didn't mention a car type, but had a police spokesman stating that it was a possible street racing incident.

Now i know why.......

But i have to ask; how can it be a possible street racing incident when there were no commodores involved?

it was a corner, so very well could be elderly persons fault - wouldn't be the first time..

it was a black S13 with some Tempe Tyres looking wheels on

I saw the video on TV this morning, hence my description

I don't know much more, but whoever it was I hope they're OK

Cheers,
Theo

very much agree with that statement.

the elderly always have poor judgment on how far cars are etc etc

well said...

however some are way to careful so they sit and wait even after there are no cars passing by.... Zzzzzzz what do you do honk! at them???

i got respect for the elderly but sometimes they shit me with the way they drive.... im asian and i get soo pissed off driving through cabramatta on the weekends to do my shopping its like driving into a Accident zone all the time.

alot of elderly people are also very short tempered, once was waiting to pump my tyres, an elderly person jump infront of me so i let him use it.
after doing all 4 tyres he put the tyre gauge back on the rack so i went to use it....zzzz he must of realize that he needed to pump his spare, so he came back and said excuss me i havnt finished using it...

wtf??? was that i said to him oh ive only got 1 tyre left, and this was a 255/40/18 tyre and was completly flat lol..... and boy did he go offf making a scene like i pushed in front of him..

bad experience

We really shouldn't turn this into a thread bashing elderly people, and we shoudn't assume that in this accident the elderly people were a fault. But yeah, alot of elderly drivers should not be allowed on the roads.
That couple who died in St Mary's due to those commodores supposedly street racing... forget about the street racing bit, these elderly people turned, across oncoming traffic and made a poor judgement in regards to the safety of turning at that particular time.
Had it not been a suppoed street race that ended in hitting them, there would be no media coverage and you can bet your life that noone in the media would dare say that this dear old couple made an error while driving.

I'm also getting sick of the current media buzz words "street race". In this article they mention street racing, yet only one car was involved. Kinda hard to race when you're alone.

It's always sad to read about people dying on the roads. But I just hate the fact that after so many accidents there is finger pointing and no one tends to blame the person who died (unless of course they are young and/or on P plates).

*street race* *street race* *street race*

It sounds like every crash involving "P" plates are because of *street racing*???

what ever happen to that truckie that killed that poor "P" plater changing the wheel on his supra???

or did they turn it into "he was street racing when his tyre exploded on him, thats when he changed the tyre and got hit by a truck"???

kinda sad and what really gets to me is that most cars caught street racing isnt even a Import its more likely to be a commodore etc etc..
