You will be sweeping the floor and doing terrible jobs, but do it, you need the experience. If it is your first job you should be taking anything you can get.

Yeah. He said because I'm into cars, he wants to try and teach me and get me doing hands on. Hmm.. :-?

Beware of where he wants you to put those hands...jokes.
Give it a go man. If you don't like it, tell him that transport/travel are the issues....tell him you like the work and would like to keep it as an option for the future.
Never burn your bridges.
Keep doing what you're doing now and ask around....show enthusiasm when you meet someone that works in the industry that you want to get into. If it's Electronics, get in good with someone who works at Jaycar or Harvey Norman etc...get your foot in the door and see how long you last there, once you've got experience use them as a referee for a new job that might suit your taste more as it changes.
