What do you guys use to download your large files and how fast does it go?

Im paying an almost redicolous price for super fast broadband, but nothing ever downloads at that speed.

I have found a software package that matches my broadband speed.
I can download a whole gigabyte in 15 mins and there is a great range of files avail. Also it doesnt run on peer to peer so nobody uploads from you, which is a blessing if your with bigpond as bigpond include uploads in your monthly usage.

The thing is you need to pay for high speed downloads.

The company is charging me something like 30 euros a month (i usually see a debit of about $41 aud on my statement) monthly for 50gb of high speed downloads.

Once you go over your limit it downloads at the same slow ass speed as everything else. Be lucky to get over 100KBytes ps.

Does anyone know of a cheaper or free alternative that runs at the same speed. Like at least 10mbits per sec?

I pay US$15/month for usenetserver. (200 day retention/unlimited data)

I can max out my connection 24/7 (which for my net connection here, allows my to download an ABSURD amount of content)

It takes a little time figuring out how it all works, but its worth it.

I still use torrents for more random stuff and as long as its on a private tracker with people who actually seed, i can 'almost' max my connection speed.

I'm using usenext which downloads from usenet servers.
Hella easy too as it has a download wizard which will search for all the rar's, download them and uncompress them for you.
But its very expensive.

What kind of speeds do you guys get on your usenet servers and what clients are you using?

Thats a ridiculous amount to be paying since its;
1. In Euro's
2. US$41
3. Capped

Both of these will be just as fast, in $US, and unlimited.
