Thanks to DumHed, I've bumped up the compresssion a tad with a set of DE pistons :)

Image

P.s. Sal - the fronts are off my car. The rears are of unknown origin and could quite possibly be off yours :D.

The crank is out of SamBo's old engine and the pistons were donated by DumHed.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the top, but my favourite idea so far is a pair of S15 cams lying across the top disc with a rectangle of glass on top of them.

nice work - its coming along nicely!

Just curious, have you actually had a chance to weigh the thing?

There's also a wooden board hidden in the rag so that I don't wreck the floor with an indent. :)

There still hasn't been an official weigh-in, but that's mostly becuase I still have parts to add! Tonight, I prepped some S15 cams to go on.

Cam Cleaning:

Unfortunately, Nissan are lame and decided to spread the cam lobes around the shaft instead of aligning them all. I'm still not sure exactly how to position them to get the most support for the glass top, so they haven't been welded on yet.

Un-official weigh-in (some dick decided a boxer piston config would be funny):

It came out at only 46kg. I think those scales must be defective becuase it feels more like 64!

if you weighed the table like that, no wonder it might have been inaccurate since part of the base isn't actually on the weigh-in surface of the scales, looks like its resting a bit on the display of the scales.

The crane hired could not lift it onto the scales without risk of breaking the floor  Its a heavy motherf**ker...

Luke: If theres ever a "table II" Just wack some glass on top of a whole sr

Unfortunately, the base of the table wouldn't fit on the non-slip part of the scales, so I had to balance it on part of the display. As far as I know, the scales are made up of two halves (the top and the bottom), and forcing any part of the top into the bottom will give a fairly accurate reading.

I will try to weigh it again soon. When I'm done adding things to it :D

I'd need two, stacked one on top of the other. But I like where your head's at :)

Isn't it possible just to use one SR ? If you take the sump off, will that give you a flat piece to put on the floor, and then just place a flat piece of glass over the rocker cover? yeh no? That's a cool idea.. I might have to steal it.
