Just thinkin about it today... and as of recent i've seen SO many sil's rollin around with no front bars, fmic's hanging on by cable ties, front/rear ends of the cars an entirely diff colour to the rest of it, with white/yellow bodgy patches all over it... and yeah, these aren't rare things to find on a sil, but ... is it just me or are there ALOT more of them rolling around like this now =o ??

why is that a surprise? they're old cars now,mostly owned by young guys with not exactly huge amounts of cash spare. it's only natural that you'll see a few around that are a bit worse for wear. particularly when it's pretty obvious that the previous several owners each car that gets imported here has likely had before it arrived in oz didn't treat the car too gently either. they are sports cars after all,they're going to get thrashed.

add in that they're the same sort of money as a several year old lancer or corolla these days,and it's not really that much of a stretch of the imagination to figure that there will be a large number of them out there in a sorry state once the pipe-dream drift project money runs out or the ambition outweighs the ability.
kids who would otherwise be in an FF econobox are having a go in OLD IMPORTED turbo cars that they can't afford to maintain,or can't handle,and it sometimes shows.

I'm sorry if this offends anyone,but it's the truth. I'm not in any way saying that this is how the majority of S13's are,but to say that they're all pristine,and only driven gently and only on sunny weekends is deluded.
the CA models are 19years old now. if (assuming no major intervention in recent years) they weren't 3/4 of the way to hell by now I'd be amazed.

On the track they look live, no gutters, telegraph poles or garden beds to crash into, but when they drift on the road they crash, and cause this issue.

i drove my old S13 with no front bar while it was being resprayed. the car also didnt handle well at high speed. vibrated and shook like a bitch!
