King St Wharf..
Good mix of fine dining or casual. I wish I could remeber the name of the one we went to. It was Meditteranean, salsa dancing upstairs. Prices were reasonable and very relaxing.

Theres a good ribs place on Sussex st- just east of Slip inn aswell.

The Summit is also very nice with city views and its revolving resturant. Fine dining. 52nd floor (MLC building)

Surry Hills- Prassits Thai. mmmm (morton bay bugs are a must).

Jap food- theres the one next to the capital theatre. That is dam great.. Be prepared to wait- or get there before 6pm. (down from Gas night club)

Don't go to Blackbirds or any of the places there, Darling harbour side.. Way over rated. The food tastes like plastic. Yuck.

Or go over to North Sydney, grab a gormet pizza and a bottle of wine and a blanket, and sit under the Harbour Bridge. Theres heaps of parking where Luna park is- but go around to the other side of it- (Kirribilly side)

All trial and error i guess.

Golden Century in Chinatown for Chinese seafood.

BBQ King in Chinatown for roast pork.

Bei Amici in Darling Point for Awesome Italian at a cheap price.

Daikoku in Double Bay for Japanese Teppanyaki.

The Pier on the waterfront in Rose Bay for the best seafood in Sydney.

there's five for you.

haha ive been to them all they are allso good

i seiosuly can give you the name of like 20 resturaunts that i love... but i cbf so i give u like 4 more..

Rossetti's on Rossetti St, Wetherill Park for Italian food and woodfired pizza. Their food is beutiful, and their pizzas, wow can you say FRESH ingrediants never had a pizza with ingrediants so fresh before! They are very reasonably priced! I suggest trying the Chicken & Mushroom or the Marinara Risottos, they are great

For that big slab of steak, i go to the outback steakhouse up at kellyville - it is kind of like lone star, but their salads are huge and fresh [and you get one for free with every main - lone star salads are all like pre-prepared / come out of little plastic bags / shoved in the fridge] You also get complimentary honey and oat brown bread with every meal, which taste great, and their steaks - have never been cooked wrong since i have eaten there, always cooked to perfection and they have like 2 size portion for almost everything on the menu! [so you can have like a smaller 250g cut of steak, or if feeling extra hungry, go the 400g]

Tinga Palace is my fav chinese / yum cha resturant, they are located next door to the parramatta australasian club on church st, parramatta. Some of the best chinese i have tasted. I also go to golden century and the regal when i am in the city for dinner / yum cha.

If you want to go Indian, then i reccomend the resturant thats located near church st mall, in parramatta [dont know the name or street name, i just know its there lol - its been there for a while] best tasting indian food, cooked BY Indians, not chinese people trying to cook indian [which was a very bad experiance at another resturant] i love indian food and that place tops the list. The best indian place EVER had to be the one in Fairfield across the road from cash converters, but they closed down :(

All you can eat - well you cant really RAVE about a.y.c.e food becasue everyone knows its not that great, but Merrylands Bowls Club probably is the nicest ive been to [better than mounties for sure - but mounties breakfast is always been great!]

Best place for Breakfast though, Mounties all you can eat @ Breakfast is damn good, and if your a member, its like $3.00 !!!!!! If you have ever stayed @ a hotel and get like breakfast in the morning with the room, that what it is like. Food galore - bread / cereal / juice / coffee / tea / scones / pasteries / pankcakes / ice cream / bacon / sausage / etc. etc. etc. wow so much food.

ahh well thats some of the more better ones, if there is a style of food you want me to say i have been to most, except for thai [becasue my g/f doesnt like it LOL]

Golden Century gets quite busy- book if you can. If you cant get in- East Ocean Seafood resturant is just down the road heading towards Market City. The dishes are the same as Golden Century. I rekon they are on par with each other.
Same signature dishes.

We sat next to Ron Jeremy and his skanks one night. Since it was around 2:00am and the night was my farewell party after finishing a long contract (ie, we had been sinking the piss bigtime since about 4:00pm) much hilarity ensued.

BBQ King and golden century late night are favourites of mine, however I'm picking Kam Fook for yum cha

It's impossible to give restaurant recommendations when it's so broad but here's a few different ones

BBQ and beers on the rooftop of the Glenmore pub in the rocks, where else can you pay pub prices and get a perfect view of the harbour

Tahn Binh in Newtown (also cabramatta but I haven't been to that one), silly good value for money and top vietnamese

Stock Bistro in Balmain - awesome value for money "modern Australian" with a pretty amazing steak

Japanese noodle place just in the little arcade next to Artarmon station (north/east side). Don't know the name but the only place in aus I've been to which really feels like Japan.

Actually, Komachi on cleavland st isn't too bad either
