Interesting article here - http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/home-enterta ... 221127.php

Basically they are suggesting that 1080p on 32" or less will be hard to notice a significant improvement over 1080i.

Yes now perhaps, but I am going to keep this tv for more than a year or so..
And for gaming it does make a difference, the article considers general use ie tv/dvd

sorry dude, didn't realise that article was posted Dec 2006, 6 months later there is probably a better/cheaper model available.

Now your challenge is finding someone who stocks them in AUS.

BTW I did some looking last weekend, sharp TV's do have a very nice picture at 1080p. I think the pick at the moment is sony or sharp.

8 days to go before Forza is released! :-)

bargain him down to $1600 and you've got a pretty good deal there (well 1800 isn't bad either - i think retail is in the $2500 ball park). Assume its still got some warrenty?

... not going to fit in your entertainment centre though right? :-)

No this is my PC desk sat in my room, well its more like a LAN desk...
Its about a good 3m across - stretches one side of room to the other

Means I can use TV as massive monitor too :D
- Just have to move surround speakers around :-?
