Dear all,

Just today I read in the newspaper that the police may reform again and go on tour. I love police espcially 'Every breath u take' before Puff, P Diddy, Diddy or whatever his name is make a remix of the song and also the song 'Fields of gold' when sting when solo. Can anyone confirm for me if it is a rumour or are they going to do it? It would be nice if they did come to aust. I would be willing to pay big money to go to their concert as I missed out on the U2 and Jay Z when they were here in aust.

I am also a BIG Police fan!

I fuckin hate Puff Diddly for what he did to Every Breath You Take. My other all time favourites include Can't Stand Losing You, Do Do Do Da Da Da, So Lonely, Message In A Bottle, and Don't Stand So Close To Me.

If they were reforming to do a final tour I'd be stoked, but I don't hold much faith in such rumours. Andy Summers (the guitarist) and Stewart Copeland (the drummer) never got along together.

Taken from wikipedia (a fairly reliable source):

Quote:
In early 2007, reports surfaced in England that the trio would reunite for a tour to mark their 30th anniversary. The concerts would coincide with Universal Music (current owners of the A&M label) re-releasing some material from the band's back catalog [2]. The following statement was released on behalf of the band by a spokesperson at Interscope Geffen A&M Records and posted on Sting's official website: "As the 30th anniversary of the first Police single approaches, discussions have been underway as to how this will be commemorated. While we can confirm that there will indeed be something special done to mark the occasion, the depth of the band's involvement still remains undetermined."

So basically it is up to the guys to decide and everything else is all green. In my opinion if they still went on they would have made many hit songs. I personally think that sting is not as good solo as when he was with 'Police'

Its just like for ABBA they were offered some ridiclous amount to regroup....
