nah that just takes the composite output and converts it to VGA. i want to run HD via the VGA ouput of the xbox itself. thanks for the link tho

but if you use that on an HD panel (like mine) it will look like a sack of shit and you may as well have just used the standard composite cable.

i need the component input of the TV for my PS2 or else id use that :P

most of those boxes use the composite output of the xbox, thats the low resolution part. i need HD resolutions, hence component or VGA

and the only HDMI input of my panel is already being used :(

right now im using the component input, and it looks awesome. DVDs and Divxs upscale and the interface to XBMC is so damn clear

I actually just bought a HD ready Samsung LCD, so I'm in the process of trying to find component out cables for my xbox, want to sell me yours?
Which ones are you using? I'm looking at these...
Xbox Cable

What about getting a switch box, take in 3 inputs, outputs 1 for component or something like that?

These are the inputs i have in the TV and what is using it.

1xHDMI - Twin HD HDD Recorder :P
1xVGA - Available
1xComponent - XBOX
3xComposite - PS2, Avail, Avail.

But i cant get a good pic on GT4 via the composite input as you cant get the resolution out of it. Switch boxes are out, as the wife needs fewer remote controls not more :P

I dont want to use any of the composit inputs as it looks horrible on an HD screen.

Biggles, i bought my component cable from Quantronics for $15. You need to convert the box to NTSC and enable all the hi-res modes in the MS dashboard before you can use HD resolutions in XBMC or games etc.

PGR2 looks awesome in HD :)

HDMI In - 1EA (Rear)
Antenna In - 1EA (Rear)
Component In - 2EA (Rear)
S-Video In - 1EA (Rear)
A/V (RCA) In - 2EA (1EA: S-Video Share Audio L/R)
PC Input - 1EA (Rear)
PC Audio In - 1EA (Rear)
Headphone Out - 1EA (Side)

The in and outs of my new screen. Gotta get DVD player, Foxtel and Xbox in there somehow.

Convert the box to NTSC? I know about turning on the high res options, thought it was as easy as buying the HD cable, and turning the option on.

Samsung 32" LCD
Resolution - 1366 x 768
High Definition Inputs - 1080i/720p/576p
Response Time - 8ms

I looked at the Panasonic and was about to buy one, then saw this, could get it a bit cheaper and liked the colour better, so went with it. Its also got a gaming mode which is meant to work pretty good, but need to setup HD to get that all happening.
