yeah u can emulate up to 2.71 now
there isnt much need for a modchip, esp now you can run custom firmwares

check out http://pspupdates.qj.net/ for details..

also I think you can downgrade from 2.60, not sure about 2.71,.. but im running an emulated 2.71 with browser etc etc on my 1.5 atm :D
did I mention loco roco is awesome?!? :D
