No, its not a cartoon. Its a completely new thing based on an old idea. Get over the whole "but its not the same" and look at it as "OMG OMG OMG BIG ROBOTS SO SO COOL!!"

that sucks. i dont wanna see all that new look shit... yeah ive known about this for a while and talk about it to almost everyone i know and meet. i simply cant wait! im a massive transformers fan but only gen1. i've got the entire 1st gen on dvd... bought it from jb hi-fi when they opened a couple of new stores... they were like $30 a box set! if anyone wants to have a transformers party id be more than happy to bring them along!!!!!!!!!!!

I was disappointed that they're not going for a gen1 CG cast,but they are trying somewhat,seeing as they've secured both factions original voice actors to reprise their roles. it'll be pretty cool hearing Peter Cullen playing optimus prime again,with modern dialogue.

just out of curiosity,how many of you watched the show the very first time around? I was 8yrs old at the time,and nothing got me away from the tv on a saturday morning when it was on.
