Alright, I'll break the ice.

Been hanging around the board since May when I started looking for a 180. After 3 months and over a dozen cars, I finally bought a 180 in late August.

I'm quite new to forced induction engines, but have been fasinated by the amount of tuning available, esp. with the SR20 engine.

My car is completely stock, so there's many things I've got planned. Unfortunately, it's also sending me broke. :-?

I work in a Pathology lab and studying Architecture for a new career path.

Other interests include bikes [Mt. bikes and Sportsbikes], music, and fiddling with the car\bike. And I have a liking for British comedy and culture. :P

My offer to fellow members is "sharing" my Initial D dvds and GTO dvds if they're interested. Just send me the blanks and a return postpak and I'll sort u out.

Cheers,
Steve

OK ill add a serious post for the new members to know my background:

Ive owned my S15 for almost 3 years, and before that i had an SR20 S13 Qs. Ive been member here for a while now and managed to rack up some serious posts.

Ive been slowly modifying my car gradually, not going for all out power, but doing some engine mods as well as handling. The car has never seen the track, but in 2 years when its all paid off and I have another car, Ill be heading down that road. For now, its a daily drive, I use it all day every day for work. So thats why its got to be fairly reliable. I also have a lack of funds to pump into the car to do anything serious lol

Ive been working as a Systems Engineer for 4 years, before that I worked as Sys admins in a law firm and a finance company. Im considering a change again! After going into unis and tafes i see how the public servant life is and I like it :)

I was serious last time when i said i like watching drift racing and WRC. I also have a habit of getting things for free or very cheaply. No i dont mean stolen stuff or anything too illegal

Other than that i just bum around and whore this forum (note: not this topic) I can also look like im working when im actually doing bugger all. I can offer training to other forum members at discounted prices.

Thats me!

Iain

I'm mostly an embedded systems designer, but I get co-opted into boring electronics projects too (grrr @ audio). Gives me money to spend on the car though...

I have a modified S12 that is my daily driver. It was my first foray into forced induction too, and I love it. She's been an expensive little bitch in some ways, nothing like as much as some people spend on their cars but not cheap. I don't regret a cent :)

I bought my car just over a year ago.

Unlike fester my car is a sl*t
It's brought me plenty of headaches (before defects)
It's brought me ricers that WANT to race me at lights.

One time this GTiR and this Skyline was racing each other on the streets, that's when i JUST got my rebuilt engine, and was still running it in, and I pull up to a light and some aussies guy full yells at me, telling me off for racing and stuff, so its brought me some prejudice pricks.

My car has got me to break a relationship cos some girls think I spend more money on it than them...well duh

It's been through engines like no tommorow, been burning a hole in my pocket and I don't even have a job yet :'(
thats life.

Ok enough about whats bad about my car, now time for what is good about my car.
It (used) to get me from A to B

I bought my S13 at the beginning of this year, after my old car copped some hail damage and was involved in an accident. At the time i was really PO'ed at the damage that was caused to it, and as such foolishly bought one of the first cars i looked at.

Due to that i've spent a fair amount of money maintaining/repairing the S13, however it's starting to be worthwhile. :D

I'm trying to get my car to a stage where it's reliable (it's my daily driver) as well as being able to cop a hiding on the track / strip every so often. As a result i'm not aiming for massive power figures, but useable power.

As with a few other people, this is my first forced induction car, what appealed to me the most was the ridiculous amount of parts / modifications available for it at pretty reasonable prices. It also offered me the opportunity to learn about how cars work, and i've done all modifications to my car myself so far! That, and the fact that i'd always wanted an S13 throughout highschool.

Sure, most of my paycheck goes into my car, but those moments when it is running sweet make it worthwhile!

This thread is turning into:

"Hi, my name is -----, and I'm a S13\14\15 addict. I've spent $----k on my habit and there's no end in sight. I've split up with my partner, changed my friends, and have lost touch with my family because of this.

I hope to seek like-minded ppl who consume this purest of drug called "Turbo Nissans," and share my technical experience and the highs and lows in running a forced induction engine."

Apparently, rehab. happens when u have kids and need a "sensible" car.

Hi my name is 182 I'm a 180 addict....

But in the real world like a lot of you I am a computer geek. I work as a volume licensing specialist for a global software monopoly. I'm sure some of you have purchased the products and there are those other naughty people... Enough about work...

I was born a rev and will die a rev head. Over the decades since I got my license I have had a small block chev in just about anything Holden made.

Times change and we need to change with them so I guess that is why I now drive a 180. I was originally looking to buy a GTiR but after a few failed attempt gave up on the idea.

No life outside of work to speak of so I spend most of my time playing on my PCs or watching movies. I am a bit of an audiophile so that kind of keeps me broke.

I read the first post thinking the thread was only to be posted in by new members, but it seems only old farts have said anything so far.. delete me if its not right to post here.

My name is Luke and I now have an RPS13.

My first/previous car was a PS13 that started life as a non-turbo automatic. $25,000 later, and after being officially declared the unluckiest man in silviansw, i sold up and bought my 180.

I am a uni dropout (network management) - after 2 years, I decided that the lecturers had to be stabbed in the eye with a pen because they couldnt speak english, and yelled at us if we asked them to repeat something. I now deliver pizzas 5 nights a week in an R31 skyline wagon. w00t for me..
I have no idea what career path I want to go down yet, so im happy enough plodding along (although i now cant mod the 180 because im povo).

I can be found either at home (on the forums), or at ImSkitzo's house (on the forums :P )

I play PC games alot, and play with my car alot.. thats me!

My name is Dave (if you haven't figured that out from my nick)

I am now silviaNSW's only regular posting token skyline driver since nismod sold out and bought a silvia.

I work as a site engineer for a Civil construction company (which means i build roads), i drink lots of beer and i work on my car (and other peoples cars if beer is provided and i'm not already working on mine).

I have no life, and no hobbies as working on an r32 will empty your wallet like you wouldn't believe, you silvia guys don't realise how cheap it is to mod your cars.

Whenever there is a an R32 vs 180sx thread, i'll be there.

Whenever anyone starts bagging out rb20's and ca18's, i'll be there (to join in).

Whenever some n00b starts talking shit (particularly if it's in mobile phone short hand (preemptive text people, short hand is dead!)), i'll be there.

And thats about it.

Enjoy the forums.
