what do you guys do to heat shield your exhaust manifolds??

Does anyone know where to buy that reflective silver stuff, its like heat blanket??, i've seen them over turbo's...

It looks like foil with some insulation stuff in the middle of it...

or any other advice to cover the manifold, cause i'm scared it might melt my intercooler silicon hoses and fry the ABS..

thanx

Or damage your bonnet.
You can get it HPC treated but others dont seem to have any problems without heat shielding.

For a street driven car you could probablly get away with some basic heat shields around your ABS and heat wrap around surrounding hoses.

You can get various heatshield products from AutoOne, Autobarn etc.

I recently tried to find that heat wrap your talking about but from what I've been informed the sale of it is discontinued due to Aspestos in the product.

I've wrapped some hoses near my turbo in this heat proof material and then wrapped thin wire in a spiral pattern around it to hold it in place.

You can buy this material from Peps Auto or numerous other automotive stores from what I'd imagine.

Its brownish in colour, looks like flat rope and comes in different widths. I tried to light it with a lighter and it woudn't catch alight!
