Heat shields are actaully pretty easy to make, i made mine up when i got my pod engineered. Cost around $25 for parts and took a day to make. All you do is just make the whole thing out of cardboard first !

Hi All,

Yesterday my Apexi GT Aluminium Air Box arrived from Greenline.jp ($244 delivered).

Took me about 1 hour to work out where everything went (as the instructions were in japanese).

* The Airbox fit directly to the factory fittings (for screws and bolts..etc)
* The Airbox is very strong even though it looks thin
* Came with an Apexi Sticker to suite the box
* Comes with all bolts and thumbscrews for the top.
* Overall very easy to install if you are careful and patient.
* Took the car for a hard run last night...pulled over and had a feel around - the box seems to be very cool and doing a good job to keep the hot air out.
* No rattling noises or anything like that.
* Airbox even came with 2 strips of insulation which had a sticker stripe you peel off, cut to shape and stick around the airbox. Did a nice job.
* Can still hear the flutter (about 1/2 as loud as before)

This may not be the best solution around but as far i can say - this has done a good job and will keep the hot air away from the pod as much as possible. Not sure if it's related but the car seems a little smoother under full throttle.

For $244 It's Good value in my opinion for an off the shelf do it yourself kit, 2 Thumbs up for this product!

Here are my pics, Keviny has an additional part i think it's called a radiator cover - i've seen this sold @ UAS in Castle Hill, it's not what i got. This is what i got from Greenline.Jp and is doing a very nice job so far.

I would imagine the extra gap is for the stock intercooler piping. if you have the stock intercooler don't consider getting mine cause there is no gap fo it.

You should do something extra to cover that hole as well, as hot air can still creep in. when the car stops, there is no fresh air circulatiing in the engine bay thus hot air will fill every gap.

Nice work though. Glad you liked it.
