Heat shields are actaully pretty easy to make, i made mine up when i got my pod engineered. Cost around $25 for parts and took a day to make. All you do is just make the whole thing out of cardboard first !

I got sick of waiting for Zei so made my own, much easier then first thought.
And makes a huge difference in temps, the wall did not do much to the temps, once I made the lid that worked like a treat.
The clark rubber stuff made a big improvement too.

How much difference are we talking? Can you explain further?

I remember you have the thremocouple thing to measure inlet temperature so you might be able to shed so light on this for us :)

silvia-82: Yes its just aluminium which you can bend by hand and i cut it my self using tin snips.

I used to have just a foam partion which over the years formed the perfect shape, I just then formed the aluminium over this and made the perspex lid using a cardboard template.

Well when sitting in traffic, it used to go up to 50-60 degress on a normal day, past 70 degress on hot days, but on your average day mid 50's.
With the partition it has not been past 35 degress and once you start to move, it would drop down to ambient in a few seconds rather then 50 to 180 seconds/
When sitting in traffic it used to climb quite quickly, say from 20 to 50 degress in 20-30 seconds, now it increases much slower, say 2 minutes or so.
I wish this thing had a data logger, as the graphs would be very interesting.
I still have not re-attched the throttle body side since my FMIC.
