A small tip would be to paint these boxes flat black. Get them as stock looking as possible. A well made aluminium box sprayed, contacted or even duplicated with a black perspex lid, (anything to make it look like plastic) I think is a good way to minimise the chances of the cops even noticing it, let alone defecting it.\

When i make my box i will definitely be looking into getting a perspex lid made up for it.

some rubber insulation would be even better, glued on... look stock and give a bit of an advantage with heat soak on the aluminium

best insulation for it would be fibre board, do a search for refactory specialist in the yellow pages. not sure of the costs but its the best.

cheap and easy insulation climb in to the roof and get some pink bat material
we use stuff called kaowool at work generic name for it but ist a thin glasswool refactory specialest once again

but as far as legal is concerned nothing will beat a modded stock air box

They have a store in Silverwater NSW, but also are in NZ.
The only site I know of is the NZ one: http://www.advan.co.nz/
You can find a link on there for the Contact details in Syndey.
