Hi,

Rob are you saying http://www.xenall.com.au/ products are made by Philips?
Sorry just trying to clarify what you mean.

And are you guys using http://www.xenall.com.au/ stuffs?
How is it compared to Narva bulbs?

I am currently using Narva but wouldn't mind getting something better than it :)

Thanks

they do HID/gas discharge converstion kits for non-HID equipped cars.

phillips make the burners (bulbs for non-techs :P ) but the ballast units and starters are from their own source (maybe they make them) and put an H1 kit on the burner as they have a different socket configuration.

dont believe the website with the 200SX model of lights being an H4. i think this is a list from the US - yes they have a 200SX, but its a FWD thing. but at least its got SR20 AFAIK :)

Thanks zel20l.

Have you got the kit from them?
What's involved in fitting it? Or is fitting included in the price.

I am probably going to get the low beam.
But is it worth changing the high beam as well? Just curious.

no but my friend did get one from them. he paid extra to get the H4 high and low beam kit. the burners are the same, but there is an electric relay inside that flicks a cover that is hiding the highbeam section - if that makes sense.

dont spend the money on the highbeam, a low beam kit will do you fine, that is unless you do a lot of country night driving? and i mean a lot!

the kit should contain burners (in H1 config - or depending on what you order) starter and ballast (in one box probably) and fuses. as HIDs need a larger current to start them up, a larger fuse (30A) is needed per burner.

fitting is easy! unplug and remove your current halogens, replace with the Xenon. Plug the xenon into the ballast/starter (as per supplied diagrams) and then take your existing H1 plug (the factory one) and plug that into the supplied loom that goes into the ballast/starter unit. then do the fuse. or in whatever order you want lol

one thing to watch out with tho, dont switch them on and off constantly while the engine is not running. the power required to start the burn of the xenon gas is enough to drain the battery if you continually do it. but when running (when the gas is burning at normal temp) they use less power than halogens.

They are fukin bright, can wait till my kit arrives
akd - do you actually have Xenon already or are they just the HID style globes that you get from autojoy??
If you do have real xenon, what dont you like about them??

6,000K - Crystal Diamond
6,500K - Crystal Purple
7,500K - Crystal White

Rob - I got brighter globes, that's all. Narva Plus 50.

Is Kaixen better than xenall?
Where can you get Kaixen ones and how much are they?

Thanks

Well I don't know if they are better as I have not seen the Xenall ones.
Xenall still only use Phillips for their globes so there is nothing stopping us from buying replacement globes from them, but Phillips only make 4,000K and 6,000K, so the Kaixen are brighter with 6,500 installed currently.
I want to find out if the ballast is the same for all colour ranges, i.e can you put 7,500 and 4,000 globes in the same ballast.
My mate got them through his work, they are a trial product at the moment, they are evaluating them, so lucky him, he is the test.
They said they should retail for around $750 a kit.
If you can read Koren this will help - http://www.kaixen.co.kr

On the bottom of that page the diagram shows the light spreads more towards the right, make sense cos they drive on the right.
But does that mean when you buy the kit you need to know which side it is for?
I want to get the Crystal White. Does the number in the model name indicate power consumption?

Would these HID Lighting attract unwanted police attention?
e.g if u're at a set of lights facing a cop and you're blinding him with your HIID's...

Q) Doesn't the use of Xenon lamps cause more to oncoming drivers?

A) The International regulations governing light distribution and intensity on the road are very strict. Xenon light falls well within these standards. Technically speaking , Xenon HID lighting is less irritating than halogen lamps. This is because the light darkness transition border are much more clearly defined. Less light is reflected into the eyes of oncoming drivers. The increased light output is used to give more even light distribution
