Post subject:  short shifters - (in particular midnight mods)

Hi Guys,

anyone using a short shifter? worth it or waste of time?

in particular i was looking at midnight mods one for $90 he seems to have a lot of good feedback on ns.com, but then i cant work out why it is less than half the price of a c's or nismo one if it is just as good?

any help or other recommendations feel free to have a crack

I've had one on one car of mine (came with it) and really....didn't see much of a point. It made the shift shorter and notchier and heavier and yeah i doubt you can actually change gears faster with one than without one. You'll be more limited by your syncros and so on than how fast you can move your arm.

i had a B&M Precision Sport Shifter installed into my s14

i think its awesome, changing gears may be a touch heavier, but it's not really that much heavier
but when im racing it's very quick snap and has a solid feeling to it

I had a C's shifter in my S14. took a week or so to get used to,but was definitely more positive and quicker to use than std once you got used to the different feel and required rhythm.
