Hi guys don't want to pay $50 or whatever for a cusco one so today im making mu own :)

Started with a nice chunk of scrap billet aluminium from uni and have already machined half of it so it screw into the factory plastic button.

Now after this lunch break I'm ready to do the side that the finger presses, generally a dome.

since I'm making it myself I want to do something different, any one got any ideas?

eg. a sphere instead of a dome

Reply within half an hour to have your idea considered (very prestegious!)

Either wqay I'll post up photos tonight of the finished product.

Gets in just befor the gun but I only want to use the lathe, so cylindrical shapes only. If I get a good idea later I'll make another one. Cost me nothing except a couple of hours

Came up pretty well: 8)

Got home all excited and ready to put it on. Realised I had made the threaded bit too large to fit, tried to force it anyway and have damage the top plastic bit I intended to screw into.

*Sigh* Custom solution now required...

OK! Day 2, attempt 2. :)

Had to rip off the platic button off the metal rod that interacts with the ratchet mechanism, as it was almost completely detroyed by my impatience.

So today i have made a new button with a smaller diamter threaded section, as well as making a female steel sleeve that will be welded onto the rod previously mentioned.

Therefore the handbrake button will be able to be screwed on and off from the metal sleeve just like a gearnob can be.

More pics tonight wish me luck!

Yeah of course it works. Ive had it working dorifto style for months now, only just made the button yesterday.

Locks up good and parks properly when you flick the switch up.
