I want to know if it is possible to get a remote central locking kit without purchasing a new alarm, my present one does not have the option....

I am sure you could wire it up so tha the pulse to arm the car locks the doors and then the pulse to disarm opens the doors.

DumHed would know a way I am sure :)

Then all you would need is 1/2 a $30 dicksmith central locking kit :P

most alarms have a door pulse output. All you need then is the actuator / relay kit from Jaycar, Dick's, Strathfield, etc.

Trust me, this alarm does not have the ability, the last time the autoelec was out he said it couldnt be done. :(

so any idea if i can buy an independant kit? I have already had the locks removed/filled/painted.

if i cant find it i will have to shell out the dough for a brant from my registration savings

In the long run a Brant alarm will be worth it.
Peace of mind too. 8)

if i buy one, it will be brant but this may mean a delay of at least a further 3 weeks before i can afford to register it.

i will try to sort something out but if anyone sees one, please let me know.

why not do a temporary separate remote to unlock the doors, or a keypad or something. You can get kits from Jaycar cheaply, and it gets the car on the road a lot quicker.

I've never seen an alarm that doesn't have an output of some kind though..

just buy a cheapo kit and install that it may mean having 2 remotes (1 for alarm & 1 for central locking) then further down the track get a good alarm installed and upgrade the central locking kit if needed

just a after thought perhaps the alarm has a out put for a sensor of some kind that can be re wired to activate the central locking dumhed should be able to help with this theroy side at least
