Hey all,

since my car got vandalised, and it has now got dented by some mofo, i am sick and tired of paying for other people stupidity, ignorance and lack of respect.

does anyone know of, or have installed any kind of video surveillance inside their car?

i was thinking about something along the lines of of camera that looks out the window and would be able to capture the license plate or the person's face. this could either be tied into the alarm system or a motion sensor.

anyone seen anything like this off the shelf? or maybe you have perhaps made your own little surveillance kit from a webcam saving to a hard drive or something?

id advise against it. they will just break into the car and steal the camera and all the recording equipment.

it will do me good if i ever see that punk again! :lol:

anything is better than nothing.

it would be for capturing cars or people, so if i could get the number plate, then that would be good.

sounds expensive and not worth the bucks imo. wont you need one of those night vision camera things since most vandalism goes on at night, i doubt you can get a clear shot of the face or any cars around yours.
Just get a good alarm. I suggest the ones that pages your mobile when it senses a shock and make sure you run out to the car fullspeed and well armed :wink:

it could be expensive. im going to do some research on this when i have time

im sure it will pay itself off if it ever catches an offender.

i have some wireless cameras that i put outside to cover the area and i have sat one inside the car b4 too and it records back to my pc hdd
