hey guys..

im thinking of buying a kit from the monkey warehouse, just woundering if any of you have brought kits from them before and if so what where your experiences with the kit... i.e. how well it fit and how strong it is.

any help would be sweet... i just dont want to waste money buying a kit that i would have to completly modify for it to fit.

Cheers.

the only stuff that bolts straight on are factory parts. the next best are genuine japanese brand name kits, and everything else after that is hit and miss.

an $800 complete kit is going to be crap. yeah, you saved a grand on buying genuine, and then you just paid that to your panelbeater in labour and prep fees to make it work, and it'll crack the first time it goes anywhere near something.

something you buy off of ebay is most likely going to be crap.

you need to go and look at parts in person and check out the quality of the mouldings and the initial finish and decide then if it's worth it.

Justin, genuine kits in some cases aren't even as expensive as people make them out to be.

Genuine Supermade Instant Gentlemen kits are $1300 from Racespec.

Genuine Vertex kits for S13 are $1800 from the Australian distributer.

if you re-read my post, that's the kind of money I was suggesting. $800 for the cheap knock-off + the same again and $200 more for reworking it = $1800.

I can get genuine uras front and rear bars for my car easily enough for ~$1200,and I don't consider that a waste of money. I have two cheapie front bars here that I bought a while back on the chance they'd be ok,and they're so bad I might only consider using them for drifting on a rough track where if they got smashed off I wouldn't care.

i had both genuine and copy kits on my car- funnily enough, the genuine was uras and the cheapie was from monkey warehouse.

the monkey warehouse kit was chunky but had a far better fitment. uras was just a joke, i had to ring them up and ask whether they actually sent me the right one- it was that bad.

to answer your question, if you want genuine don't go with uras and if you want a cheap knock-off, there are many better/cheaper kits than monkey warehouse. either way though, its going to be a hit and miss deal.
