review is a few posts down, the following is my original post...

==//==

so i'll be getting my coilovers really soon, so need some alignment products to complement them, came across these "d-project" ones from ns.com:
http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/inde ... 95124&st=0

are they any good? has anybody used them? is there better for the price ($200pair) besides going cusco - cos cusco is way too pricey :(

this is what driftshop said in an email to me:
Quote:
Rosejoints are teflon lined and are designed to be pivoted on the factory
bolts and not the rose joint, much like the factory bushing, so that lasts
longer and is more durable. They are not servicable as they are sealed
unit. Replacment bearings are available from $99 pair but you would not
need them due to the design, nature and durable material that the bearing
is made out of.

feedback and/or analysis is appreciated :)

They look like much better joints then you would get most other places, probably on par with Japanese brands.
However i still prefer urethane joints due to their durability.
I like my whiteline arms but whiteline only make camber arms not toe arms :(
They make traction arms too but no one really needs them.

They look ok to me,
The blurb about the rose joint is ignorable tho cause
all bearings can and will fail under the right conditions.
As long as the welds are good and you get the desired amount of adjustment in the length of thread(and they do vary from brand to brand)then I'd be happy with them(at the right price)

for people that search and/or are interested in the product, here is my feedback on these products, take from it what you will.

so i went ahead and bought the whole lot - caster, camber, toe and traction.

They arrived in poor condition despite being bubble wrapped nicely - the paint on it was chipped, there was excessive overspray of paint and there was even a part that was "coloured in" with texta to try and hide a paint chip! :o

after some bitching, drift shop/costa the owner, offered to take them back less shipping.
these things are heavy which will mean expensive to ship back, i needed the arms and i didnt have time to get a new set elsewhere as i had a trackday coming up plus my coilovers arrived, so i just installed them.

had them pro aligned by road and race (nice guy there) for a hefty price and was on my way.
my car was on a hoist 2 weeks later so i took the opportunity to snoop around and discovered some of the locknuts came loose, wtf?! i did no hard driving in that time either, just cruising.
i tightened them up.

after a day at the track i went to check over the car and what do you know, the locknuts came loose again! WTF FFS!!!

draw your own conclusions, attached is a pic of one of the bearings when they arrived in bubble wrap.

I just installed a set of rear upper arms and toe arms of the same brand and so far I have a far different experience with driftshop to you.

I have found Costa to be extraordinarily helpful. Originally he sent me the wrong item, but he reimbursed me shipping and got me the right item delivered. So he fucked up but he did everything he could to rectify it.

As far as the product itself goes - remember how much you paid for these things. Mine were $200 per set. You can't expect the same performance as the $450 per set jap stuff.

As far as the locknuts coming loose - you need to go to the gym

I've also only had good experience with both costa and his products.

I have rear upper arms that have been installed for the last couple of months and have been on a few quick drives over some very ordinary roads and they are still fine. No issue with the lock nuts and the ball joints are still good.

I paid on a tuesday and had delivery by thursday.

I ordered a castor rod brace and rack bushes. Received the brace 2 days later as the bushes were on back order. bushes were delivered at no extra cost the following week.

All items were well packed, and of surprisingly good quality considering the cost. All the welds looked good, there were a few paint chips, but nothing that i was worried about as they are under the car. I think i put more chips on them during install than were there to begin with to be honest.

I'm talking to him atm about roll center adjusters as they are still in manufacture. Should have them around the end of the month.

I have rear camber arms and toe arms,

and yes sure they chip easily, the lock nuts come undone and Ive got a feeling the hex on rod section will round soon, but honestly you get what you pay for.

they are decent price for what they are....

anyone got any experience with the tune agent stuff ?

www.tuneagent.com.au

i was looking at the r-spec castor rods and rear upper arms, they seems pretty good and i saw some feedback a while ago somewhere. they are a little pricier then the one mentioned here though.

i'll give some feedback after purchase and install, which will be after compliancing currently under way :)

The tune agent r spec stuff looks pretty nice.

I was originally going to get the upper arms from there but they didn't have stock at the time so the D project stuff was next on the list.

for those that are interested, here are pics of the tuneagent arms i got

Image

the castor rod is the 'r-spec' version which was $248 + delivery, with the rear arms they didnt have the r-spec in stock so i just went for the normal version which was $226 + delivery ($286 for the r-spec)

interestingly as you can see, the 'normal' version rear arms come with rubber boots, but the r-spec castor rods dont. i dont know much about bearings, but i assume the r-spec one is better (also chunkier).

quality is very good, im happy :)

those castor rods look nice!! actually very similar to my old kazaama ones that cost me a packet. the kazaama ones had a boot over the ball joint and lasted forever.

you can probably buy a boot to fit over them you know?
