I took a risk and bought a cheap stainless steel dump pipe off ebay and I thought I'd share my initial thoughts.
I delt with a very good ebayer, I recieved the item 2 days after the auction and with all gaskets as decribed.

The welding is of very good quality however slight grinding of the weld is required near the bolt holes, otherwise the bolts won't sit flush. The divider that seperated the wastegate is slightly loose, but easily tightend with an allen key. Inside has been die grinded quite well. One thing i did notice is that there is a very fine 1-1.5cm long crack on one side of the dump pipe, and over a short period of time may get worse but It can be easily welded while it's off.

My conclusion: I think that the cheap dump pipes commonly found on ebay are not great, but good if your willing to spend an extra hour tidying it up before putting it on. Not too bad for $115 including express delivery. The money that I have saved from getting a "custom" made dump pipe from an exhaust shop, I might get this one HPC treated.

Here's some pics.

are all splitters like that?
as in they jus need to be atatched/tightened by an allen key rather than be part of the dump itself

Of course, when you put it onto your S15 (as per your profiles "car" section) you will find that the S14 dump you just bought doesn't fit quite right because of the splitter you just tightened, and will subsequently have to remove (due to the 3/4 splitter that is part of the S15 turbo).

And that injecting the wastegates gasses back into the exhaust 30 cms later is doing more harm than good to your gas flow.

But, hey... I guess $115 is a good price.

wanted to know how it will do more harm than good with a twin pipe system or are you saying with the splitter piece for the t25 taken out it will leak gas to both pipes.
I am wondering weather to get same dump for t28 or if it doesnt help power out much

I bought a cheap $130 delivered (non-divided) dump pipe from Ebay.
I'm very happy with the quality of the pipe.

I've already tig welded in a boss for the EGT too.

Check out the weld quality on the flanges. It's pretty darn good.

No I don't think so, I presume they are made by an underaged worker from some sweat shop in asia

And heli0s is correct in saying that the splitter has to be removed or modified for it to fit S15 turbo.

I reckon the quality of these ebay products is quite good. I don't really like the design of the twin pipe dumps though. A single 3in pipe from turbo back is much better

i had mine fitted [xforce] with one of those splitters

and the fucker came loose. risking will remember as he took the fucker off for me lol.

i apparently still didnt need it as my turbo has the splitter allready.

the xforce splitter sits inside the flange not outside of it

but it rattles after a whole comes fucking loose its annoying as hell

im switching to a single tomei dump in the near future
