Has any1 wif the SSQV changed the ring??
I've recently changed mine to the purple sequential ring..
well mine doesn't make much noise nemore... at high revs theres none of the high pitch sound...
Is this the same wif u guys or have I installed/setup my BOV wrong?

I got the gold and purple fins with my SSQV. The gold one is similar sounding to the standard silver one but louder. The purple one gives a kind of two stage echo thing!? I had the original recirc bov taken out of the system as they sometimes leak pressure and totally ruin the inlet set up if left in situ. They also make your new bov quieter as a consequence. My SSQV is pretty loud with the silver fin and PLENTY loud with the gold one in.
It also affects the noise/performance of the bov depending on where you situate it in the inlet system. Mine is in the same place as the original but some people like to fit theirs round by the turbo which apparently does not suit the inlet system so well. Sorry, can't tell you why coz I'm not too knowledgable about the whole bov/turbo thing but suffice to say mine is pretty loud.

hey got a question...

seen ppl place there bov before the intercooler, & then i see alot of ppl like u white180sx with a front mount who put the bov after the cooler...

whats the difference? whats louder? whats better for the engine?

Cheers

Many argue that is should be placed as close to th throttle as possible as this is where the pressure it releases is. I would think inbetween the cooler and throttle, otherwise the air would have to travel backwards through the cooler to the bov and that would make some crazy turbulence.

Probably the smartest idea though would be to copy Nissan, anyone know off hand which side they put it?

either way it will vent it out.

the best place as close to the throttle body posible.. so that the air dont have to bounce back.

in my case down under the fenders, near the waterbottle. its still close the the throttle but i wanted it hidden.. :D

I have mine just after the intercooler and just before the throttle body, i think around that area is good, although i have another adaptor plate for another BOV or injector if it want hehe wanky

Ok

PLEASE !!! people who refer to when the turbine is spining backwards 'choofing' the air out as wastegate flutter SHUT UP.. it is NOT wastegate flutter.. it is simply the air going back thru the compressor blades which are running in the other direction..

now anyway,
Laws: Nissan place the factory bov on the inlet side of the intercooler, which i assume is simply because there is no room after the intercooler to place it.. All that ridiculous plastic piping doesnt give you much of an option to graft things to.

All these loud bovs... sheesh, just run more boost you girls  Ive also been told by other people that the R2D2 bov isnt actually that loud. Blitz and anything with a decent sized trumpet will surely scare your average pedestrian :)

I've got HKS SSQV and its hella loud :D but then i also have a FMIC and and am running 15psi...

its louder than my mates blitz BOV(same as White180sx).... but the 15psi and FMIC play a big part in that....

L8Rz

p.s. my friends got a HKS SSQV on his TT Soarer(stockish) and yeah it isn't loud at all...

Any chance that these will fit in the stock position or does it require welding to be fitted?

no mention of the GReddy Type-S?

If you want loud, GFB Twin Trumpet is very loud. just the ordinary pssshhh sound though..

Some people say you should mount BOV near throttle, some say turbo.
I'm going with throttle.
