Hey.. Im looking at getting myself a new CB Radio, I currently have the Digitalk 0.5mw one picture But am fed up with it... doesn't seem to have the range and isn't very clear at all plus you can hardly see the display when its dark or light shining on it.

So I was looking at these 2 options from DickSmith
1) Uniden UH-41 / 1mw $$69 ==> clicky for more info
2) Uniden UH-44XR 2mw $168 ==> clicky for more info

So has anyone used any one of these ? or can give me any other suggestions or other places to get them from? I don't know if I can Justify spending a extra $100 for the 2mw as I don't use the CB a great deal but found the 0.5 mw just not enough. Would the diff between a 2mw and a 1mw be huge?

Thanks

Get the second, one, most of use have that one, but that is over priced, you should pay around $100 for it.

The second one is the UH-44XR (2mw) for $168 and the one that's found following your link is the UH-40XR (0.5mw) which is discontinued and I believe replaced by my first option the UH-41 (1mw) for $69 so far im leaning towards it.

Thanks.

i have the 2nd one, the 1mw one

it is a fairly good sized unit, and the batteries last ages too.

38 channels, and some standard features, id recomend it especially for the price.

i think u will find that the CB radio prices are ABSURDLY cheap right now, u WILL definately get one for under $100.00, and i wouldnt be suprised if it was half that price right now.

U can get those newer smaller models for $58.00 twin pack.

The twin pack 1mw ones clicky are $197 but because they have a special on the single ones its actually cheaper to get the two single ones for $68 and the desktop charger for $47 total off $183 a saving of $14 for a DIY twin pack :D

i think it is like this

0.5mw - 3km radius - 1km line of sight

1.0mw - 3km line of sight - 5km radius
