Best value for money would be the jaycar one. I'll be buying another one of these soon as I blew my last one up :)

The Jaycar EBC is not a close-loop device. What this means is that the EBC itself doesn't have the faintest idea as to what the level of boost being applied actually is. It works by monitoring the injector pulse and attempts to figure out what you are doing based on how much fuel is being fed into the engine. From this it attempts to work out how to modulate the boost solenoid which ultimately determines the level of boost.

Oh...Yes, I know the factory solenoid is not always closed loop, although the ECU knows a little more about what is going on and Nissan spend a lot of time testing every scenario. You are not going to get the same level of testing in a specific engine/turbo setup from a kit which will ensure that it will work in every situation. Simple economics dictate that the kit designer/supplier can not do this.

While it is certainly an interesting and novel concept - for an aftermarket EBC, I don't think I'd be keen to try it on my car. Personally, I think a properly installed bleed valve would be safer.

just installed an eboost

pretty easy to install, is closed loop.

easy to use and holds boost well.
cheaper than blitz and apexi,

popular with the rotor heads

ofcourse the reliability and performance of the jaycar IEBC depends upon the quality of the tuning with a boost gauge and an assistant. If this is done correctly it is a very powerful unit with two boost maps and about 60 load points on each. I sourced a boost control solenoid from a Blitz controller which has fast actuation time and due to the novel design of the jaycar unit it actually sits in series with the wastegate actuator allowing no air to bleed from the wastegate b4 full boost allowing fastest spooling.

sure it isnt closed loop and the IEBC itself doesnt have the faintest about the boost level but that is the point of the tuning process linking the solenoid actuation to injector signal, which incidentally gives great throttle response. Also the same hand controller can be used to tune the Digital Fuel Adjuster which allows the upgrading of injectors and/or air flow meter by intercepting these signals.

If it doesn't open the wastegate at all until you reach teh set boost level, then it's going to spike like a mofo

ahaar, yes you are correct, well kinda, you will get compressor surge if you dont ramp up the boost within reason in your tune instead of slapping it on, again done right all good great value, no negative comments from me about blitz or other ones there is room in the market for all as this thread shows

I just installed an ID3 in my car. I have had an AVCR but i think the ID3 is a much better unit, and holds boost better
