I don't think there is a specific point at which you can seperate "mods" from "rice", it's all comparative...

Consider a 180SX owner who's spent $10K on his huge new Garrett + truck intercooler + 4.5" exhaust pulling up next to a Civic with a loud kit and big wheels, but custom internals. Naturally the 180SX owner will smugly think, "riceboy" (or "ricegirl").

But when a Porsche Carrera GT owner pulls up next to that same 180SX at the next set of lights, you can bet he/she is thinking the same thing about the 180SX owner.

I saw a Mitsu Cordia GSR driving toward Newcastle city this morning. It had a front mount intercooler that took up so much room that the car looked like an intercooler on wheels, with a couple of headlights thrown on top for good measure :o . Sure, that car may thrash my standard 180SX at any set of lights, but it looked so f*%king riduculous it really made me think, "why would you bother?".

I guess the only real way of avoiding that "rice" label is to drive a stock standard ride, or own a Ferrari Enzo,

Hmm that GSR Sounds pretty Ricey! anyone want some Rice? :P

but would you consider a Custom full body Kit Rice?
imo i wouldn't..

Rice to me is just Faggy mods to the car that look utterly CRAP!

but you do have a point there f3nr15 :D

Depends what it looks like. General rule is that crazy over-the-top stuff is rice.
