Guys,

After watching the cars go around the short circuit at the autosalon last weekend, I now want to have one of these....... :P

I have absolutely no idea, as to whats a good brand, power wise n price range.....

CAn someone that has one or is in the trade, advised me of which one to get, I'm not looking at anyting big or fast one, just something to play around with in the back yard.....taht still has a reasonable speed n etc.....

Also if you guys do own one or more can you tell me what kind of car/engine you have n stuff....

Cheers

get an electric one!

not quite as quick as the nitro ones but a lot easier and they don't get covered in oil and stuff...

If you want though I could probably be persuaded to fix mine and lend it to ya..
It's not really back yard usable though.. It actually requires as much space as a real car to corner at full speed. Sounds like an F1 car though :D
It's a Kyosho Super 10 chassis with a Kyosho GT-15 engine...
Does about 60km/h - into a wall last time I used it... The chassis is a bit banana shaped, but fixable.
Oh, and I broke the front diff ages ago, so it's 2WD now. It does phat donuts!

They run on a fuel which is a mixture mainly of Methanol and Castor oil, and a small amount 5 - 20% of nitromethane which is what top fuel dragsters run on. It's like mega high octane fuel with more energy in it than petrol. It's totally different to N2O (Nitrous Oxide) even though at AutoSalon they said the R/C cars were using Nitrous

Nitro cars are a pain to use though, coz you have to start them and fix them all the time, but damn they are fast!

If you want info on R/C cars come to our club website at
www.imcc.org.au
you can also go on our forum and ask questions as well.
D3VIL- if you want to buy a electric car get a HPI as they
are fast easy to build and maintain and HPI has heaps of
aftermarket bodies including R34 GTR's and S15 Silvia's.
I also have my own forum there if you want to ask me anything.

Me and about 3 mates regularly go racing with our nitro powered RC cars. Ya should drop as a line if you get one and we can go caning around. I can show you some good places to get cheap parts as well, or even buy the whole car if you're still looking.

Nitro powered RC cars ROCK! :-) They are so much fun it's crazy - i got a rw drive buggy I've set up or drifting!
