hey guys,
not sure if a thread like this has been done before thought it would be interesting in its own right,
just interested to know what peoples experiance is with there cars as far as what fuel they use if they are particular about it and what type of milage you can get out of a tank,,,

My results
Sr20det powered 180sx ( 3" turbo back, T28RB, stock boost rest fairly stock )
i use BP ultimate always...
City Driving 230-50ishkm on a FULL tank ( lol fail )
Hwy driving ( went to camberra last week ) got 500km almost on the dot from a full tank..

ill update again later this year once the car is finnished and has a tune in it and compair,

results anyone?

I have a similar setup to you. SR20DET with a T28, running around 9-12psi boost (depending on the weather), full 3inch exhaust etc
I don't do much highway driving, but last time I went a long way on the highway I got around 650km from a tank (BP Ult).
On my short daily trips to and from work (roughly 10 minutes each way) I probably only get around 400-450ish though.
It comes down to how you drive and for how long at a time. Plus there is some dodgy fuel out there. Shell fuel is utterly crap in my car (I get back firing, less power and less KMs) so I avoid it where possible.

That's a little worse than I used to get out of my last two S14's. both were boosted up with the usual mods and would get around 350km/60L.

My missus used to get around 450km/60L out of hers in mixed city/freeway driving but she mostly drives like a grandma... That car had a GT2871 on it as well...

If you want to hear bad,my Celsior used to suck down 80L for 300km...

+1 to the shell comment, on the return trip from camberra i was left with no option but to fill up the car with some vpower, it might sound like a bald comment considering they tested all our local premium fuels and found they are all identical, but from my experiance, the car definatly pulls harder on bp ulti, also i noticed stilling on 110 the car seem to have to work harder to maintain its cruze speed, also like you said the backfire and spluttering on vpower is far more then on the ulti ( running a BOV doesnt help it but you get what i mean )...

If you're getting ~300k's from a tank in normal driving, chances are the O2 sensor is dead.

They generally only last 80-100000ks from new - and less if the car's modified or out of tune.
