I need a CA18DET head machined flat for a head gasket change.

Where in Sydney is good? North Shore and Northern Beaches preferred but will travel out west if necessary.

Close enough, I'll give them a shot.

Just before anyone asks, I have done a heap of ringing/googling etc and everyone I have spoken to doesn't do it (even places like Powertune etc that build engines?!) and they were tight-lipped about where they get their work done.

probably because they are embarrassed that they use their local clutch place like everyone else...

they might send their bottom end work out to someone like wilkins or parry's ,but a simple head skim would only go down the road to whoever also machines flywheels and such for them.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I ended up taking it to these guys:

Racetech Automotives
UNIT 5, 314 HOXTON PARK RD PRESTONS 2170

They were interviewed in an old HPI magazine and seemed to know import engines quite well so I gave them a call and Frank (who I believe is the owner) was helpful.

It's going to be around $80 or so for milling + cleaning.

:x None that I could find easily...

Anyways, it has been done. Race Tech did a fantastic job and it was $88 for milling and cleaning including GST.
