You can drive anything on the track. There's no rule about a minimum power/weight ratio.

From your post, it sounds like an SR engine swap into your current car is the best option. Your parents wont hate you (as much as if you bought two cars), and you don't have to pay rego on two cars a year (~$2000). It's also going to be more reliable in the long run, especially once you decide you want more power. And don't pretend that you'll be content with a standard turbo engine. If you didn't want more power, you would be keeping your non-turbo CA ;)

well with $6000 i think i could get some decent power im looking at 180rwkw can get it with eas outa an sr but im looking for nm ova kw just want to frie tires and go nuts..

if i was to get 2 cars one would be straight up track so no need for rego :) car trailer ftw.

its just that there is so many options and ethat way i go i will end up with a similar result but its just time and effort im looking at realy and tyring to find a front cut if that is the case! :-?

If you are going to frequent the track on a regular basis, and your parents will let you keep a second car and car trailer, get a non-complianced track car, otherwise you will just end up modding your streeter to the point where you are scared to drive it on the street for one reason or another.
Not to mention time off the road for mods and repairs.
