Post subject:  Body workshop reccomendations and rant about an asshole

Basiclly, some guy (girls are usually nicer than this :) ) opened his car door right onto the contour line on the rear quarter of my S15. Boy was I, and still am pissed off.

Our car park has CCTV footage and I'm checking it tomorrow with the body corporate to find out who it was and proceed to follow it up and try recover costs (just for the principal)

Its left a nice paint scrape and a shopping trolley style ding right on the contour line on my rear quarter, and I'll be wanting to get it fixed.

While I'm at it, I'd like to get the front bar resprayed since there are a few stone chips on it, and the rest of the car is immaculate.

I live on the North Shore close to Hornsby and work in St Leonards and I need to find a panel shop I can trust.

Having been to a few in the past, having had mates that worked at them, I have lost confidence in them not treating the car like crap.

Can anyone recommend a panel shop in my area where the following sorts of things wont happen.

- Used to go get lunch by the workers (as fast and sideways as possible)
- Generally thrashed when ever it needs to be moved.
- Tinkering with the EBC and other performance related parts.
- All the other things you would not want someone else doing to your car.

They car is pewter, so I require a good paint match up and top quality work... not some slap happy job that bubbles in 2 years or whatever.

Surely you gentlemen expect the same good treatment of you Nissan
:D

Can anyone help out with quality recommendations?

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks guys.

Security footage shows him opening his car door right next to my car then pausing for a bit.. I know he did it, he is the only person parked there all day.

I can't make out the company name on the side of his car but have his rego plate... suppose there is not much i can do with that.

Location wise, Artarmon would be the best place but there are so many shops... which one to trust?

If anyone can reccomend one in Artarmon or similar location would be great.

Gladesville is a bit out of the way for me, but if it comes down to it... that's where I'll go I guess.

are you insured? full comp?

you should just need to pass the plate number onto your insurer and they'll be able to follow it up. especially as its on CCTV

yup if you have insurance then you can claim with rego and video footage. he drove away from the scene of an accident....... technically anyway :P

Won't that effect my no claim bonus or premiums negatively?

The footage does not show the actual impact, since the camera is showing more of the passenger side of the car. But it does show him open the car door next to my car then pause for a bit (possibly checking out what he just did)

I guess the guy could argue it was not him, and the footage would not prove otherwise, however, if I could find him and confront him and let him know its on camera it may be a different story.

if you are not at fault, and the damages can be claimed from the person who did it, then it will not affect your no claim bonus or premium as the insurance company can get the money back from the person or their insurance company.

in my case, my car was damaged a few months ago. unfortunately there was no footage, and i didnt know who did it, so my insurance company would not be able to get re-imbursed for fixing my car. i could of paid the excess, but i didnt want to affect my no claim bonus or premium, so i got my car fixed privately. (fukn kent who hit my car!! )

just speak to your insurer. sometimes they can be helpful, except for when they have to actually do what you get insurance for, which is to pay for stuff to get fixed

who are you with?

i guess if you can show footage if your car without damage, his car parking there, him looking at your car, and then damage to your car once he is gone, thats a good enough reason to take action IMO.

im with shannons, and ive never had a problem with claims with them. didnt shannons and famous merge?
