I was driving around at work on saturday night in Penrith and I could hear this loud rumbling behind me and thought gee thats a loud exhuast, Shortly afterwards the car passed and got in front of me, it appeared to be a Gemini and i looked down and noticed that his twin exhaust stopped at the muffler half way down the car hence why the exhaust was so loud.
What I find strange is that I've seen a decent share of modified cars etc pulled over by the police and had their cars checked over, yet this guy drives around with only half his exhaust and hasn't been pulled over yet..seems kind of strange to me.

There was a dude rocking around the Hornsby area in a 180 with no catback for ages. To his credit, he still had the cat attached.

I think it's a matter of time before they get pinged for it. As for cops pulling imports over - they do it because it gets results. Import = car enthusiast = mods, (which usually equals dodgy mods). If everyone got their stuff engineered, imports wouldn't get pulled over as much.

Having said that, I was only pulled over twice in the four or five years that I had my 180, and both of those were RBTs. The second time the interior was gutted, and I had a race seat and and aftermarket steering wheel in the car. I may have even had a lap timer set up. They had a quick look at my rear tyres after the breath test and sent me on my way.

Ah okay yeah the police around here haven't been to bad lately, I've had them follow me for a couple of km's but then left me alone because they couldn't get me for anything obvious.
Guess it just depends on what kind of day the officer is having.
