i see. well i think you should bring back a car thats not eligible on the SEV lists. it will make your ride stand out and plus when it comes to selling it. i don't think you'll have any trouble. just my 2 cents anyway :D

if its not on the SEVS list, its not going to be registered, so when it comes to selling it. he cant, because it would never have been on the road

Hes talking about a personal import, not a low volume import.

Jarich has lived in Japan for over 3 months..

sure you can. they'll just make you send it back,or crush it.

even if he wants to bring something odd back,it's too late now,as you don't have to just have lived there for over a year,it has to have been registered in your name there as well, and I'm pretty sure for that period of time as well.

that's for cars. if you're talking anything, you can't do that either.
there are rules.

I'd love an FN FAL and some 26rd mags for my STI,and I know places where I can buy both from, but neither are legal for me to import...

Justin...

Yeah, that was exactly my point - you have to be able to prove ownership of the vehicle for over a year in Japan to DOTARS.

If you can do this, you can apply for the car to be bought in, regardless of it's make/model.

Yeah, I could bring back anything as a personal import really.
I could have done it with the 180sx.
Didn't want to though.
