i dont know where if this been repost or is this on the right section..
hope this help... and pls remove to the right section mods =] thanks!

this is something that was taken from SAU which i thought should be told to as many people as possible

I was in my friends WRX the other night. We were driving home from Petersham towards Rockdale, accelerating fast but not over the limit, rev out 1st gear then just hit 2nd a couple of times. By the way he has a Megasonic BOV which attracted a lot of attention.
Anyways, I looked in the passenger side mirror and saw a plain AU Falcon with normal number plates on it with 4 ppl in the car 3 males and a female driver, thought nothing of it so we continued as normal. Friend got a phone call so he pulled over and the Falcon passed us but slowed down...we thought it drove off.
When my friend finished the phone call, we went back on our way. We caught back up to the Falcon but we were still doing the speed limit. It pulled over and let us pass, which i thought was very very weird. We then took our normal shortcut and 20metres from turning the street we see hear a siren from behind..it didn't sound like a typical Cop siren, they then put a blue flashing light up on their roof.
The female driver told us to turn off the car. 2 people get out, the 2 males from the back seat. "Licence please" he says.
My friend kindly handed it over. Then the Female driver comes out along with the male in the Front passenger seat. We had 4 cops surrounding us. Each of them in plain clothes. This is where I started to shit myself.
Funny thing is, EACH one of them had torches, and asked BOTH of us to get out of the car. And they were also considerably young early 20's...we started to get suspiscious.
They asked us where we were off, to where we were from and reasons why.
Then they asked my friend to open up his bonnet. So he agreeably did.
"Your blow off valve is quite loud, my friend" one guy said. "You should really get that fixed and plumbed back".
I thought..hmm..he knows his shit.
Whilst 2 cops were checkin under the bonnet, the 2 others were scoping inside the car. I over heard a couple of words.."alarm, immobiliser and pin code"
Thats when i got really suspiscious...so i asked to see their badges. They all looked at eachother. One said "don't be a smartarse".."both of you please get back in your car"
My friend got his Licence back and the cops just left it at that.
We quickly took the licence plate. And were thinking..."what the f**k just happened".

Should we report this. Or is it pointless.

I believe that they were going to hi-jack us and probably have done this before.
Probably had a tow truck ready to lift the car.
But to our suspiscions they got scared..
Mystery...

on my few "run-ins" with the police they have NEVER asked me or my passengers to get out of the car.
I always thought it was a safety thing for the cops, as in, if you're in the car with your door closed you can't attack them or something?

If there is one lesson I have learnt after being assaulted by someone pretending to be a police officer, they ALWAYS have to show you their identification. No matter what the scenario, even if they are in plain clothes.

If they show you anything else other than an official badge, it doesn't count.

I have been asked to get out of the car, but the police were both uniformed. They just wanted to talked to me and my friends about the defects i had and explained why they were defects, nice cops - they didn't defect me and told me to ask someone to come down with a spare tire so i could change the one with a nut in it :/

Either that or my thought was if they ask you to get out of the car you're basically stepping onto the roadway, so it's for your safety.

Had a similar situation couple of days ago. Got pulled over by "undercover", who knows if he was or wasn't a real officer.

Not surprisingly he wasn't wearing uniform, flashed a badge and ask for a license. Obviously he didn't check the details against a computer or anything, just written down the details, checked the wheels and exhaust.

So yeah, it was very weird. He had about four people in a car with couple of chicks sitting on the back sit.

No reason for being pulled over or anything... very strange, unfortunately I didn't get number plates, but it was new magna...

Watch out! hope my car won't get stolen....
