Actually Bree thats not true, i got defected at a rbt station in picton back when i had my 200. I was driving normally in the left lane, and a bogan in his ss commo ute was sitting next to me revving the crap outta his ute then seen the cops down the road, they let him go and pulled me in.

After the inital breath test they told me to pull into the side street and wait, after 20 mins they came round and went over the whole car. Finally after he finished defecting me he ask's me "why did you modify your car anyway? its not like your going to take it to the track so i guess your going to street race it" which gave me the shits something fierce.

So it just goes to show, they can defect you anytime, anywhere.

the copper ended up defecting me for my pod filter, exhaust, blow off valve and because of my front mount told me to get an emissions test which was a pain in the backside to pass.

He told me also that every time the bov goes off thats 3 points off the licence. i was pissed off after the defect so when they let me go i made my bov go off 4 times in front of them as i left so that should be 4fines x3points =12 points, lol i shouldnt be driving hehe:P

they arn't allowed to defect you at RBT's! cause RBT set ups are to catch drink drivers, having you there for an hour banks up the damn people who are there getting breath tested! or so thats how it is meant to work (mate of mine is a cop) cause i asked him why they didnt say anything about my car when i got pulled over for an RBT at 8:30am on double demerit long weekend (week after i got my car)... they aren't defect stations, they are breath test stations. fucking why have a defect station then!!
fucking stupid, i wish you could complain but in complaining you would get in more shit for having a BOV etc anyway.

useless society!

the last time i got defected was by an RBT station.
it was near sydney uni. after they defected my r33 for bov, pod and having no h pattern on my gear knob they packed up and left.

Cops in general are ok...the gf's sister is a d :o, but some are just plain a-holes!!! No H pattern on a gearknob isn't even a real defect. Its only necessary for heavy vehicles.

i was questioned over this once and i was told by the officer that in the event of an emergency if someone had to drive my car they wouldnt know where the gears were unless it had a diagram engraved into the top of the stick.

bullshit rule, but i guess revenues revenue to these people

it is stupid. say it wears, and you cannot find another 'standard' one that suits your car so u buy similar, yet aftermarket. then you get done for that. but it wouldnt matter if you're an old person cause cops are only asshats to the younger gen / modified cars. :D

can't win these days

most aftermarket shift knobs without the h pattern engraved on them come with a sticker you stick close to the actual shifter

this is the legal way of doing it

lol wont agree with you there ram.sure they can because after i showed up to a mates accident (fatal) a couple years back, the cops wouldnt let me drive home coz of shock. they ended up argueing who'd drive it back to the station.

to cut a long story short, picked up the car the next day with a busted clutch and the boost wound up.....was not impressed
