I'm glad I didn't spend the $20 entry would have cost me when I was in the area on sunday morning.

can I ask a serious question now? What do you guys find so appealing about cars like that?

The fulleh sick chromies & tan leatherrrr bro and omg tubbo!!

I see absolutely no point at all in going there.. every year i get people ask me to go, and every year i laugh at them and tell them to get </censored>.. i personally find it a waste of cash, but... all to their own. Some people like those kind of looks in cars i guess.

I went last year for the first and last time.

Waste of money...the only good thing was talking to Darren Appleton for 45 minutes (I didn't know it was him until he introduced himself and shook my hand). What a champ he is.

Other than that, a waste of time.... :x Looking at the sik chromies and stuff just makes me angry. At the end of the day, it is a car...and what use is a car if you can't drive it? What use is it having 500hp (which no doubt some of those kebab-mobiles do) when your body kit will get ripped off by the slightest bump in the road or the rims will buckle.

You can't take them on the track either as they aren't set up for it. After the show is over, they are totally useless.

expensive scrap metal in my opinion.

i can appreciate the mechanical work that went into the VL but its practicality and aesthetics remind me exactly of what autosalons stand for.....whos got the biggest wallet and dumbest idea.

what a waste of an engine.

When I was younger and was going for free (did work experience for them and kept in touch) it was a good way to kill a Sunday arvo. Walk around for 5hrs or so checking out cars and girls and what not. Totally not interested now, would rather go to a car show displaying more maturely modified cars or go watch a track day. I reckon half the cars there with engine mods arent even tuned to use them (considering the only time they exceed 5kmh is when its on the back of a trailer)

its $20 to get in now? it was like $12 the first time I had to pay for entry.

"all show, no go" is what autosalon is. Sure some the cars might have a lot of engine work and make a lot of power, but watching a 1000hp car sit stationary in a hall is no more exciting than seeing a 100hp econobox do the same thing. You can admire the work all you like, but at the end of the day youre still looking at a car sitting still doing nothing.

Also, the girls of AS are always very ordinary. its the girls that go to the show that you go to look at. just dont get caught taking pics ;)

i think someone mentioned ages ago (fergo maybe?) that they would rather see a beaten up drift pig than a show car. im with them on this one.
