Hey, i am currently at WA. thinking to take my car to Sydney with me nxt month.
anyone here know is that ok that i drive my s15 with my WA no. plate in sydney for a year. i will be in sydney for a year?
and my car has few modification(FMIC, turbo upgrade, manifold, EBC, gauge, turbotimer, exhaust, cams, etc.) and i have permit for FMIC exhaust gauge and boostcontroller in WA(is that counted?)
cos i don't see a point to register under NSW no. plate just for a year..and i will take the car back to WA with me in a years time...

much appreciated for any informations provided ......

just leave it registered in WA

you will also probably get less hassle from the cops too

I think if your residence is listed in WA it's fine

If you are on a lease somewhere in NSW you have 3 months AFAIK

yup....i will keep my resident address in WA. but however i still need to rent some place to live when i am in sydney, will that be a problem, i mean i keep my permanent address and licencing details in WA, and my car is an s15, with mild mod of turbo upgrade ecu change and exhaust and also a customized no. plate..................will that be attractive to police...if by any chance they stop me say my mods are defected.......i wonder what can i do? compliance there or what?

thanks for the helps guy,,,,,,,,,,much appreciated....so worried abt taking car to there....seems very strict to import cars.....

It isn't really how your car is modified

I drive a faily stock looking white S15 with tasteful 17inch rims and exhaust and i get hassled a little bit.

Luck of the draw, really

i think if your PRIMARY residence is in WA then they cant do anything about it. who cares if youre renting here when you own or live with parents in another state. if youre renting then youre not permanantly living there technically. so keep it in WA and youll be fine i rekon.

if i had a house in QLD or VIC id be registering all my cars up/down there
