hi all,

i got defected again. just on my way to getting plugs!!! most expensive plugs ive bought

He defected me for no airbox and atmo BOV. which i guess i shouldnt have anyways but still the cop gave me a $200 fine!! he also said my exhuast was too low even though he said he couldnt tell cause it was half on the road and on the grass.

Anyways my question is i have a Z32 AFM. i m guessing i need a 300zx airbox to fit on...will the box fit in the car?

Also if anyone has one let me know.

The Z32 box mounts in a completely different position to the S13/14/15 (I'm assuming you have one of these) box. Just modify the S13/14/15 one to fit the Z32. That's what I'm doing.
Throw the atmo BOV in the bin/for sale. Done.

yeah, i had another look and think it might be a little hard for the std box to fit in as i got a custom metal pipe going to the AFM and it pretty much sits all the way down the bottom. ill see what i can do.

As for the BOV yeah im going to buy a plumb back

ok i cant afford a plumb back at the moment, and i dont really want to run the std BOV as it will just leak under hi boost.

im thinking about just not running a BOV for a little while. i know it isnt the best idea especially since the turbo is boosted at 20 psi. but it is only tempoary, so it wont be like that for ever.

What do you use to block up the cooler pipe? i have the trust V-SPL intercooler. im just going to block the vaccum line with a bolt or someting but i cant find anything big enough to block the pipe. any ideas??

You can get caps but they aren't easy to find. The kit didn't come with one? I see lots of guys here with the BOV position capped.
Failing that a pipe the right size and some suitable plug. Maybe the lid from a big bottle, a piece of plastic, some huge bolt etc etc anything will do the job esp if its temporary.

Why don't you get an enclosure made for the pod ? i bought this one from mu secret http://www.musecret.com.au/product/1414/category/184

Is this enough to keep you safe from a defect ?

yeah i am going to get an airbox enclosure made up, my only problem is it will need a little bit of custom work done as i have the Z32 AFM and it is sitting on a custom made metal pipe. so the AFm isnt in its normal position it is further down where the airbox would usually sit.

but the price for that airbox for MU Secret is pretty cheap and its fiberglass so i can modify it easily i guess.

cheaper then the ones i have seen

Totally random but Gatorade Caps fit on the bov mount.. I've done an I/c install where the owner didn't have a bov & didnt want to use the standard bov.. Used the cap of a 600ml Gatorade bottle with a hose clamp.. he runs 16psi no hassle

Yer their pricing is good ! Give them a call or take the 15 in and let them have a look at it, they might be able to make you one specific to your set up.
