I'm in the process of making one myself.
Already made the side and top cover still have to be done, then everything needs to get painted black.

So far tools used:
Drill - to drill number of wholes as well as the big one for AFM.
Pliers, hummer and a brick to bend it to the shape.
Good kitchen scissors to cut the aluminum sheet.

Other stuff used:
1.5m of a wire similar to vacuum hose to cover the edges
some silicone to glue this wire to the metal.

dont worry about painting it

from what he's described seems very straight forward, why don't you make it yourself?

failing that, any decent workshop should be able to knock one up for you.

I decided I would prefer a good one to whatever dodgy hack job I would be capable of, so I got this.

cost about 200, and I don't see how it could be better.

done by Ricol automotive in peakhurst. Greg at autosport quoted me a similar price.

It's like stickers...adds more HP...

I'm actually considering bludgeoning myself a few times in order to try make myself one of these for my type x. Could you PM me the costing you got on the parts to make it?

Cheers :)

the sock is there to absorb any potential spillage from the p/s reservoir.

done commonly in japan for track days, and copied here by some. not really necessary IMHO. I've never seen one overflow unless it was overfull to begin with.

Mine was overflowing after the last skidpan day.... and I'm a n00b so wasn't even really cutting sick that much :D

Back on topic, when I get home I'll take a pic of my cover. Doesn't look fantastic, but it's just one piece of sheet metal that Dumhed gave me which he used to use on his old turbo silvia. Looks pretty boring, but covers up the pod.
