Anyone got an idea of whats required to pass a blue slip?

The exa will hopefully be running soon, but its got some rust. ill be cleaning it up a bit, cutting out the bad stuff and bogging it up. there are some smaller patches but they arent holes. just some minor bubbling. i might cut that out too if i have time. it also has a dent on one of the front guards, but its not broken or anything, i might beat it from the inside and just prime over the top of it to stop more rust lol

it will have 4 good tyres, all lights working etc, not blowing smoke (i hope). the usual to pass a pink slip.

apparently to pass a pink slip you can have some rust in the car, as long as they arent holes. this is only what ive heard tho, not sure if its real

any help would be great guys!! thanks!

PS. im not looking for someone to pass me, only what NEEDS to be done and whats checked in a blue slip.

it needs to be able to pass a pink slip, being carried out by a total nazi to pass a blue.

when you get close mate, give me a call and I'll pop over to check it out.
might save you a trip.

A blue slip is just a pink slip with a check of the numbers.

Most people will do a blue slip more "properly" than they would a pink slip though.

blue slips are more in depth then pinkslips and it also depends where you go. Some Blue slip stations are really strict compared to others, some may fail you if they think your exhaust is too loud, too low, lights dont work, lights are too dim, seat belts dont work properly etc.

Just make sure that the station you go to is not black listed.

the car is an 85, so wouldnt it only need to comply with standards back in 85 to pass a blue slip??

anyway, im going to work on it this weekend, once its running i can move it outside the garage and put my better car IN the garage lol

Hmmm...interesting this topic should come up now... :-?

I went to a place this morning in Crows Nest where I had my car booked in for a blue slip. To cut a long story short I bailed, didn't end up getting it done.

Can anyone recommend a good place in Sydney that won't be too tight about (roadworthy) modifications?

I had troubles getting my s15 blue slipped, it had mods. Everyone would say the same thing, sorry can't do nothing without an engineers report, its too low, exhaust is too loud, part of battery tray is missing to route the cooler pipes through. Honestly once i got the engineers report he barely looked over the car and gave me my paperwork
