The S14 did come out in Japan in a naturally aspirated form, but they were never sold in Australia. There may be a couple of personally imported ones around but they would be very, very rare.

You'd be better off looking for a NA S13 or Autech S15 if you have the cash.

i personally believe they are getting abit more rare, and i also believe they are still very popular amongst alot of car enthusiast's, and finally i also believe in my opinion that MY s13 would turn alot more heads then a majority modified turbo r33 or 300's, so therefore i dont think they are getting on in the years, thats my opinion

I've actaully seen the odd S14 Q's for sale. But rare.
R33 GTS would do the job, similar age and features etc.
I've driven an NA Z32 before and they are alright, I didn't mind it at all. Didn't feel terribly different to drive then an S13, just a little bigger, the 3L offsets the bulk somewhat too.

why the fuck would you do that? why not wait until you get off of your kiddy restriction and then buy the S14 and drive it as is?

S14 NA's are not allowed to be imported to Australia, unless you want to track race it only, and have all the licensing and log books organised all ready. and even then, why bother, when they're available locally, and you only need to change half as much equipment. NA S14's are crap.

The S13's still have a lot of things which are desirable in a drivers car, old school simple RWD, decent engine, handle pretty good, don't cost much, very light, stop ok and more aftermarket parts out there you can poke a stick at. Even on a day-day basis they're pretty easy to live with really and a good introduction mechanically to work on and learn how things work if you're getting into cars.
About the only thing against them is they really are limited in what you can carry around in them and the usual things which need to be fixed up in cars that age, most of which are easy enough to get as they've been in the country in some quantities for some time. You'll also want a decent 3pt immobiliser + well hidden kill switch and alarm because they're also like most cars of that age, kind of easy to steal, but that'll just cost you $450 tops installed.

All things said and done, they just don't make cars like these any more, but you've got to drive it to see if you like it so go get some test drives. You'll either like it or wont and if you're still alive and have a full licence in 3 years an S15 will probably cost sweet f-all and they're a good car.

define a shitter. you can drive an elise on your P's. or a BMW,or an XR6,or a maybe even a porsche boxster...

it doesn't have to have a turbo to be fun to drive. you guys rely on power way too much.

Much more than you realise. power will never make up for driving skill, good brakes and good suspension. now being P platers, you don't have any driving skill yet,so that just makes the latter two points all the more important.

What's the point of having 300kw ATW when you have to slow back down to 40km/h to take a moderate sweeping corner? the 100kw ATW NA car with good suspension that you're driving against will blow straight past you at double your corner speed after having caught back up whil you wash all your speed off.

Watch a skyline try and run against a civic at wakefield and you'll get an idea of what I'm referring to.

the only place power dominates is at WSID.

Fully agree, start small and work your way up. An MX5 is also a prime example! :)

exactly my point. I would have killed for an MX5 when I was on my P's.
you could do a lot worse. I certainly did,and there weren't any restrictions back then.
